Masters Scholarships for International Students at Erasmus School of Law in Netherlands, 2017





Erasmus University is inviting applications for Holland Scholarships. These scholarships are open to students applying for the Master in Commercial Law (both specialisations) or the Master in International and European Public Law at Erasmus School of Law.

The Holland Scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences.
The scholarship is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their Master’s in Holland. The EEA consists of the EU countries and Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
In order to study at Erasmus School of Law, all students must be able to listen, read, speak and write fluently in English from the start of their studies at ESL.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing master’s programme.
Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to study Commercial Law (both specialisations) or International and European Public Law at Erasmus School of Law.
Scholarship Award: The scholarship amounts to € 5,000. Students will receive this in the first year of their studies.

Scholarship can be taken in Netherlands

Eligibility:
  • Student’s nationality is non-EEA;
  • Students are applying for the Master in Commercial Law (both specialisations) or the Master in International and European Public Law at Erasmus School of Law;
  • Students have never before studied at an education institution in the Netherlands;
  • Students have to pay the institute tuition fee because you do not meet the nationality requirement;
  • Students must have achieved excellent study results in your prior education. This means an average final result of at least grade 8.0 (or the equivalent) during their prior education. For these purposes, prior education means: the previous bachelor in Law
  • You meet the specific requirements of the LL.M. programmes of Erasmus School of Law.
Nationality: Non-EEA students are eligible to apply for these scholarships.

College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have bachelor’s degree.
English Language Requirement: In order to study at Erasmus School of Law all students must be able to listen, read, speak and write fluently in English from the start of their studies at ESL. When being admitted to our LL.M. programmes we expect all students to actively apply the English language when participating in the lectures, workgroups and group assignments.
  • University requires a minimum IELTS score of 7.0, or TOEFL score of 94 (Internet based)
  • EMLE students please check the EMLE website.
  • Students with a first or second degree with the English language as medium of instruction (please submit proof) do not have to submit a TOEFL or IELTS test report.
Netherlands Scholarships

How to Apply: Students who have applied for a master’s programme at the Erasmus School of Law and who meet the application criteria can apply for the scholarship between 1 November 2016 and 1 May 2017. The application procedure for the Holland Scholarship Programme is as follows:
Every application can be submitted by e-mail to the LLM office and need to include the following documents:
  • (Provisional) Admission letter
  • Motivation letter (including intended career path)
  • Proof of excellence during Bachelor of Law (Certified copy of Bachelor Degree including grade list)
  • In case you have not completed your Bachelor yet the average grade of the current year until the date of application applies
  • Description of financial position including a bank statement (that shows an amount sufficient for the living costs during your studies of 12 x €900) and an indication of the maximum amount that can be contributed by the prospective student and/or external sponsors
Application Deadline: The deadline for applications is April 1, 2017.







Master of Laws (LLM) Scholarship

This scholarship was established to provide up to four students each year with financial support to the value of $4000 toward the coursework costs of the Master of Laws (LLM) program.
Applicable to: International Students, Law, Postgraduate, financially disadvantaged, Masters Coursework, High-Achievers.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:
  • Be enrolled in the Master of Laws (LLM) program in the Faculty of Business and Law
  • Be enrolled in the first year of the program of study
  • Be enrolled full-time (minimum 30 units)
  • Not hold another scholarship for the same program
  • Be an international student

If documentation is not provided your application will not be processed. Please have all required documents available for upload as PDF, DOC, DOCX, JPEG, or JPG files prior to completing the online application process.
  • A copy of your undergraduate transcript
  • A statement explaining your financial situation and how the scholarship would assist with your future studies.

Benefit

Two (2) scholarships will be offered annually. These scholarships provide $2,000 for the student's first semester in the program, and $2,000 for the student's second semester in the program, provided scholarship criteria are met and payable after satisfactory academic progress has been demonstrated.

Selection of the successful candidate will be on the basis of:
  • Academic Merit
  • Financial Need
  • Performance at Interview
